Job Summary
The Sales Representative is responsible for maximizing sales and achieving sales targets set. They will focus on proactively pursuing new business opportunities while servicing to existing customers.
Internal Relationships
- Reports to the Divisional/Sales Manager or designate
- Collaborates with Department/Commercial Sales/Divisional Teams
- Liaises with internal stakeholders as required
External Relationships
- Maintaining a profitable and professional working relationship with channel customers
- Liaises with channel customers and other external stakeholders as required
Principal Duties
- Maximize sales to ensure that monthly sales targets are met.
- To adequately service the customers in your territory ensuring that you provide a suitable solution according to the customer’s requirements and providing a high level of customer care and service.
- Establishing new business opportunities and developing new customer relationships by on-field outreach and call outreach.
- Establish a strong, mutual working relationship with the Merchandising staff and ensure that all directives from their job specifications are performed.
- Liaising with our warehouse as and when necessary to ensure that the deliveries of goods to your customers are done in a timely fashion.
- Ensuring correct pricing for all our products at retail outlets and stock rotation in compliance with expiry management and damaged goods policies.
- Coordinating the replacement &/or credits for damaged or expired products.
- Performing any other duties that management may from time to time assign to the post.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 CXC O’ Level passes (inclusive of Mathematics & English).
- At least 2 years of sales experience in a similar capacity (FMCG industry experience will be an asset).
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in business applications and other related commercial software
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with focus on team building and collaboration
- A reliable vehicle and familiarity with the road network of the country
- Sound problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
